The Supreme Court

A week ago yesterday, our nation was rocked by the news of the sudden death of Supreme Court Justice, Antonin Scalia. Mr. Scalia was a careful student of the Constitution and believed fervently that it should be interpreted as it was originally intended by the framers. Being thoroughly devoted and true to the original text, led him to be a champion and defender of that document. As such, he vehemently disagreed that abortion, homosexual marriage, and other so-called "rights," were in no way whatsoever suggested, supported, much less protected in that foundational treatise. He wrote several ardent dissents denouncing Court decisions that he believed were unconstitutional. In short, Judge Scalia was a man of principle and conviction, and his passing has left a huge void on the high bench. Not only that, but whoever fills his vacancy, a conservative or liberal, will determine the court's balance of power. The highest court in the land is now resting squarely on the fulcrum and is at the tipping point. Every Christian's desire should be that the man or woman who wears the next black robe will be one who holds firmly to Christian principles.

That being said, may torrents of prayers ascend heavenward to the great throne room of God. May our pleas for the right person to fill the judicial gap, lodge in the ears of the true Supreme Court, the Divine triune of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Court where one never needs to be concerned about vacancies and replacements. The Bench where never an unjust verdict or law is handed down and is imposed upon the innocent. The Bar on high where no dissenting voice is ever heard or a decision is challenged. Make your sincere plea for a godly judge, known to this Court! Rest assured the Godhead will grant us a hearing (James 5:16), if we'll fervently make our appeal for His will be done, (Matthew 6:9-10, 1 John 5:14).

The welfare and basic freedoms we have long enjoyed, stand on the brink of being lost. For Christians the matter of who will fill Justice Scalia's place is a grave one. Shall we pray as never before that "the Judge of all the earth," will provide the right person to fill the empty seat. Please, recognize the urgency of praying to The Supreme Court over this matter, and see that you do so.
