Blessings From Our Gospel Meeting

Our Gospel meeting last week with brother Dan Jenkins bestowed upon us all great blessings which built us up in our "most holy faith" (Jude 20). Let us reflect upon a few of these strength inducing blessings.

Our Faith Was Strengthened. The apostle Paul told the Romans, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God"(Rom. 10:17). The Word of God was effectively and powerfully preached by brother Jenkins at each and every service. As a result, our faith could not help but be bolstered and fortified. Lets now tap into that strength and utilize it to teach others so their faith will be in the Word of God and not in the word of men, (1Thess.2:13).

Our Fellowship Was Strengthened. Once more this strength cannot be denied. As we assembled at each service the tie that binds us in Christ was made stronger. Each one of us was "...likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind"and "walking by the same rule, minding the same thing" (Phi.2:2, 3:16). Therefore, because our faith and fellowship was made stronger:

Our Zeal And Resolve Was Strengthened. As we sat at the feet listening to a brother who has preached for sixty-one years our zeal was relit and our resolve was emboldened. The Great Commission does not seem as big or as overwhelming. The Gospel can be taught by us to others! There are those who are searching and longing for the Truth. All we have to do is sow the seed, plant and water, and God will give the increase (1Cor.3:7). Hopefully a sense of obligation to teach others the Gospel has been instilled deeply within each one of us. The most important work in the world is teaching the lost. May we begin doing so again realizing its not only commanded, its doable! Christ has not give us an impossible task.

Our Hope Of Heaven Has Been Strengthened. Is this not the natural result of our faith, fellowship and zeal being fortified? If we practice what we believe and regard it as precious, does not our hope of heaven grow stronger? How could it not? May we take the strength the meeting infused us with and use it fully so that "...when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming" (1Jn.2:28).
